Common questions
Does it work with Realms?
Yes. One of our bots joins your Realm as a hidden player and relays for it, and a small pack goes into its world. See Connecting a Realm.
Do I lose achievements?
On a dedicated server, yes, on the world where Beta APIs is turned on. That's Minecraft's rule for any experiment, and BedrockRelay can't read chat without it. See why a dedicated server needs Beta APIs. On a Realm, no: it doesn't need Beta APIs.
Will it affect my other packs?
No. The installer adds BedrockRelay alongside your existing packs and merges its settings into shared files without removing anyone else's. The preview shows every change before anything is written.
Does it slow my world down?
No. On a dedicated server, the pack checks in about once a second while people are playing, and every few seconds when the world is quiet, sending small batches of events each time. On a Realm, our bot is one more player, hidden away in the End. Either way, formatting and delivery happen on our side, not in your world.
Can one world post to several channels, or several Discord servers?
Yes, to as many as you like, each with its own direction and events. Several worlds can also share one channel. See Channels and events.
Can Discord and Minecraft players talk to each other across two Discord servers?
Yes, turn on Shared chat in each channel.
Can my other addons post to Discord?
Yes. Any addon can send messages to Discord through BedrockRelay, and they appear in channels with the Other addons event on. Addon developers can find out how in the developer guide.
Can someone else in my Discord server change my relay?
No. Only the person who set up the world can change its channels, rules, plugins or pack. Anyone with Manage Server in a Discord server can disconnect it from that Discord server. See Who can change what.
My host blocks @minecraft/server-admin. Can I still use it?
Yes. In the dedicated server installer, open Advanced and tick My host blocks @minecraft/server-admin. The pack then keeps its settings inside itself instead.
How do I update the pack?
When a new version is out, the world's card and Settings tab show Update pack. It installs the same way as the first time, keeping your settings and plugins. See Updating the pack.
How do I see who changed something?
Open the Discord server in the dashboard and go to its Activity tab. See Activity.
I removed a world by mistake.
Go to the Overview and choose Undo under Recently removed. You have 7 days. See Undoing it.
Does the bot ever message me or my members?
No. BedrockRelay never sends direct messages. Notices only go to the channels you've chosen.
