Entity scan

Count the entities around a player, pick out the usual causes of lag, and find where they are. By PPTribalize.

What it does

Too many entities in one place, like dropped items, minecarts or a crowded animal farm, are a common reason a world slows down. Both commands look around an online player, up to 6 chunks (96 blocks) away, or 4 if you don't say.

  • /entities player chunks counts every loaded entity there, and lists the most common types.
  • /lagcheck player entity_type chunks picks out the usual suspects: dropped items, experience orbs, projectiles, primed TNT, falling blocks, minecarts, armour stands, boats and villagers, with where the nearest ones are. Give an entity type, such as item or minecart, to count and find just those.

Scanning takes a little of the server's time, so there's a 15-second pause between scans. Answers are shown only to the person who asked.

Choose who may use it on the world's Permissions tab. At first, only Discord administrators can.

What it needs

BedrockRelay pack v0.4.0 on a dedicated server. It works on Realms. It shows which player is being looked at and what's around them, which can give away activity near a base.
